Sheesh! I know I ask for mercury free vaccines for my kids, never knew I needed to watch jelly, who knew???:noway: :grumble:0

Holy Cow. We have alot of those things in our house. That's just crazy. We try to eat a lot of fresh foods. All of the meat we eat at our house is home grown, along with the eggs, and we grow quite a bit of our own veggies and freeze them to use in the winter. I'm getting so I don't want to buy anything from the stores.0
-
Thanks for the post! This is no joke, it appears that it marks *yet another* trespass against human health and safety taken by big business interests for the sake of profit.0
-
Wow, we have a lot of those things in the house right now! Actually, almost everything you look at has HFCS in it. Scary!0
-
I am just absolutely disgusted by this......I really honestly think that most of the food industry is trying to kill us. :devil:0
-
Well look the FDA controls everything, from the food we pay for and eat to the pharmaceuticals we have to buy to counteract the sicknesses we get for the food we bought.........hmmmmmm sounds like a conspiracy........but you be the judge:ohwell:0
-
Just perfect! :grumble:
I don't keep those items in my house, but it makes me wonder what other items are dangerous.
Ya bust your butt trying to get and stay healthy, and all these companies are tryin to poison you!
The Omish have it right... make everything yourself.
If you can't create it, you don't need it! :drinker:0 -
Thank you for posting this. I actualy have very elevated levels of mercury and have to avoid certain seafood. Thankfully i do not eat much processed stuff but i do have peanut butter and jelly for a treat . This will help me be more diligent in my shopping so thanks again its very very important that i don't add to my already overloaded body.0
-
Thanks FDA. Bang up job ya'll are doing. :explode:0

It's good to know and to be careful but the article also says:
Are the levels harmful?
To give this some context, here’s an example of what the study found - there were 300 parts per trillion of mercury in Jack Daniel’s Barbecue Sauce. The Center for Science in the Public Interest says that’s still 30 to 3,000 times less than the amount of mercury found in fish and seafood.
The companies named in the IATP report defended their products, noting the very low levels of mercury detected. “You would have to eat more than 100 pounds of ketchup each day to even come close to reaching the EPA’s safe exposure level,” ConAgra spokeswoman Stephanie Childs tells the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
So: essentially, it's more harmful to eat tuna fish.0 -
Still why do they have to have it in HFCS? That's why I avoid it even though they say it's safe. Also ConAgra supports the use of HFCS, with that said, she'd be losing out if she said don't eat it, she has to keep her job. Yes tuna has it, but we've know that for years. I think they need to research things before they feed it to us. Like the growth hormones in dairy cows, those hormones give thyroid, colon, breast and other cancers to rats, yet the FDA says it's okay for humans, last I checked if a makeup gave an infection to rats, they wouldn't sell it to us.......:grumble:0
-
Wow :noway: , thanks for posting this! I forwarded the info to all my friends/family.... I'm sure they'll appreciate it also! :flowerforyou:0

Like we needed another reason to avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup. LOL, glad I already cut it out of my life. On the up side, if this gets some people to buy less Highly processed foods, it's a bonus!0

I am right there with you sara rojo, it's definately not a far fetched conclusion at all....0 -
I think I need to be a farmer - grow my own food and raise the animals needed for meat because this is insane!!
My daughter has a form of autism... between the vaccines and foods... WTF??0 -
wow! im afraid to even go look in my cabinets. :frown:0

Awesome ... That what I like to read !
Love your posts about not trusting the FDA or any other agency, company, industry or the elusive "they" who keep telling us that processed foods and artificial sweeteners are beneficial.
About the mercury (and all other harmful substances, preservatives and the like that are added to food) ... a little bit in this isn't going to cause us damage so the FDA says .. BUT they do not take into consideration the little bit in this ... and the bit in that ... and the 2 bits here .... and the 2 bits there ... it can all add up to a harmful dose.
Children are at the highest risk here. We must protect their young developing bodies from the chemical bombardment of the food industry. My all time biggest petpeev is people who feed their kids processed foods because "they won't eat anything else" ... It's a terrible excuse. You don't know what the long term effects of that choice will be. Already there are huge increases in childhood diabetes, allergies and cancers.
Kids will eat when they are hungry, feed them super foods, get them involved in the cooking and they will be more than happy to eat their creations. You don't need to go exotic here, just make fresh, hormone and additive free real food.
Do not be afraid to look in your cabinets ... Everyone GO, get a big box and clear out all your unhealthy food. Yes, you paid for it .. Yes, it might seem waste full ... but you (and your family) are worth healthy choices. I donated my extra food to the local Soup Kitchen and that may seem a bit hypocritical but that's what I did ... I'm happy it wasn't wasted. Get it out of your house and don't let it come back in.0 -
Also stay away from Asparteme. That stuff is not a normal chemical. It just tastes wrong.0
-
I agree with avoiding food that isn't healthy for you. But allowing fear tactics and media hype to keep you always paranoid isn't healthy either. I mean who eats 100 pounds of Ketchup a day?0

Stuff like that is soooooo bad for you, not to mention it causes headaches in many people....just another sign that it is un-natural and bad for you. It's in diet pop, anything that says sugar free, etc0 -

Nobody. But still it is something to consider. Mercury is a heavy metal, and it is my understanding that we have no way of getting rid of it once it is ingested. So while no one eats 100 pounds of ketchup in a day, you might over your lifetime. And add all that up with the mercury in other foods and by the time you are in your 60's or 70's you may start to see some effects.
Scary stuff0
