Chronic Constipation: When Should I Check My Body Weight?

I have been dealing with chronic illness-related constipation for years. I am on a pretty consistent scale of backing up, taking Miralax, and clearing out my system. Rinse. Repeat. Depending on the day and the Miralax, I can see up to a 4lb difference on the scale. When should I weigh myself during the week for the most accurate baseline? I use a body fat percentage Aria FitBit scale that auto syncs my weight and it looks like a heart-rate monitor with the constant up and down weights (body fat percentage stays the same). Any advice out there MFP world?

I would weigh daily and track the trends in your weight.4

Agreed, I would weigh each day and just watch the trend.1

I just found an app, Happy Scale. It "smooths out" fluctuations and tracks trends. So even though you vary a lot from day to day, you will be able to see if you are losing overall.1

Been there- done that-bought the T shirt and every constipation remedy out there.
I could carry a meal for 5-9 days+. Talk about miserable.
But what helped me is MFP diary w/ notes. Tracking what I eat and when I go, not to mention: Fiber
EDIT: Miralax+Fiber+water+walking= daily happy dances for this once-miserable girl.
I have a cap full of Miralax every single morning in my black coffee. Followed by a glass of water on an empty stomach. Dont wait until you're backed up to take it. I dont know the illness contributing to your constipation but breaking the cycle if possible, should be your focus; not when to weigh.
But having been there...Ive done daily and weekly.
If you are trying to take into account the weight you carry in your intestines Id just weigh daily if you like the data and dont mind the fluctuations. MFP has a linear chart too. My ARIA logs my weight into MFP daily and I can see the chart and past entries. Thats good enough for me.

Have you tried taking psyllium husk with each meal. I mix 5g to 10g with water and drink it. It works wonders.0

Totally feeling your pain right now! I've always had problems in this area. And when I adjusted my diet, it feels like I hit a wall all of a sudden! I bought some Metamucil yesterday and started drinking it. I also recently started a morning Apple cider vinegar drink, so I'm hoping this will get things moving! I do weigh myself daily and for me it's super frustrating right now because I know this is the reason I'm stuck on the scale! But my curiosity gets the best of me and I have to look.0
