I'm new to this app & wondering how to calculate calories burned on an exercise that isn't one on the list to chose from. Can anyone help with this?

The best way I have found to do this is to find an app (Google search "calculating calories burned, exercise", there are plenty of free options), app will request your age, height, weight, and minutes of exercise for each individual one. Plug the info in and you'll get a fairly vague estimate of kcals burned. (It is vague because only measuring your heart rate while lifting will be able to get you closer in terms of intensity of your particular lifting session)... you can then plug that info into MFP...It really is kind of frustrating, because for EACH exercise, you'll have to really time it, write it down, etc... though with repeatedly doing this, you'll begin to get an idea of your average kcals burned for each type of workout you do...
Hope this helps!!!
If anyone else has determined a more effective/ time saving way of doing this without wearing a Polar heartrate monitor/ chest strap, please ring in!!!1 -
Thank you so much!!!0
