So...how do you handle this? Do you plan on burning extra calories at the gym the next day to make up for it?
Summer is very social time for me and with dinner plans and lunch meetings, etc....I will go over some days and be under most days.
Any advice would be appreciated....

Are you going over by 10 ..20 ..200 calories? I use to stress about being over , any amount. Think about what you ate prior to MFP..and the amount of calories consumed prior to MFP. Go easy on yourself. ..som edays are better than others, but having a conscious awareness of being under/over will reduce lbs in the long run. No woories - you still have to life your life and enjoy your time with others.0

What I usually do is do my working out before I go out and over indulge, then while ur out to lunch with a friend ull think about all the work u just put in and if its worth it to go crazy on the over indulging, everythings good in moderation it works best if u think about what u r goin to get before u go like how many daquiris ur goin to have an add up the calories before hand so u kno wat ur gettin urself into and hit the gym. Good luck0

Just make smart choices and if you go over you will have to work out to burn them off, Its a life style change its about making the right choices when eating out0

I am trying to remember that it is a marathon not a sprint and splurges are a part of it.
It seems that planning is KEY . So maybe I will take a bit of walk this afternoon to burn some calories before going out to eat.
It's a total learning process huh?0 -
All I can say is try, try , again! It will become easier once you lose a pound or two to stay motivated. And doing extra workouts will help, buuuuuuut, weight loss is 80% diet, so you are gonna have to buckle down some time :0)
GOOD LUCK!0 -
My trainer always tells me to use the 80/20 rule...eat perfect for 80% of the time. You can't maintain something that really doesn't fit into real life. Also eating too little doesn't work either, your body goes into starvation mode and stores everything as fat. If I go under my calories I don't lose. So I guess you have to figure out what works for you. Enjoy your night out and don't stress about it, just make good choices.0

Another strategy you can use to help limit the over indulging is to eat a healthy snack and drink a big glass of water before you go. These will decrease appetite and make it easier to make heathier choises when you go out.0

Thanks for the tips!!!! And yep I get that I am going to have to buckle down at some point so I ate VERY healthy today and will splurge a little tonight...
I like the 80/20 rule -- that is something that I can live with....0
