16.4M American adults think chocolate milk comes from brown cows

That is really sad. But then, so many Americans have no idea where a lot of their food really comes from so I guess I can't be too surprised.

I have a neice who is 5 years younger than I and was raised in a city. Visiting a farmer relative at the age of 5 and being presented with iced fresh raw milk for breakfast, she reacted quite unfavorably to the discovery that milk comes from cows.

Although that is the sort of survey that plants ideas in people's minds, then checks to see if the idea was planted, then pretends the idea germinated organically.

Heh, yup. Online survey, 1000 adults, 7% answered brown cows. So 70 people. smart kittens indeed.

A friend of mine grew up on a dairy farm. Once the subject of strawberry milk came up in conversation. He said that there's no way he could ever drink that, because it looks an awful lot like milk from cows with mastitis.
