So I started loading my profile data today. i added my weight and goals and just to learn how things work, i added my food and planned excercise for today into the tracker. Man, i thought my diet was decent but those calories add up FAST!!! I plan on getting real serious about this plan on Aug 14th. I'm heading to the Sturgis bike rally next week and there is a fair amout of self debauchery and gluttony that goes on there thats hard to avoid. Hence the future start date. For excercise, I plan on doing P90X to the best of my ability and play racquetball at lunch. Not an easy task for a 300 + pounder. Anybody looking for a support system or a buddy, sign me up. I see lots of people succeeding on this site. I'm kind of a success story stalker and looking to be able to add my success in there one day.

Sure you'll do fine BikerMike, you've joined a great site which has loads of help, and yes those calories do add up very fast - found that out for myself - Scary!!

    Good Luck

  • Good luck on your goals! I don't blame you a bit for waiting until after Sturgis! My husband and I went a couple of years ago. It's beautiful country.

Welcome. This is a great site/app. When I started I was blown away too by how many calories I was really eating. Using the app on my phone works great because I can enter in food before I eat it, and that'll sometimes spur me on to make a better choice when I see what the calories will be. The best thing, for me at least, is that I can eat the foods I want so I don't feel like I'm depriving myself. And with the calorie limits MFP sets for me, it's a gradual reduction that's not hard to stick with.

Good luck & have fun at Sturgis!

playing with the iphone app. Thats really cool and should be a very useful tool. I love the idea of loading food into the system before you eat to see what its going to do to your calorie count. Thanks all for the friend requests, the more the merrier! :)

The iphone app is great! I can add foods that I would have to manually add on other sites I checked out!
