MINI GOALS

Hey everyone!

I was doing really well for the first few weeks I was on MFP. And then I lost it. A couple weeks later, I'm back and ready to get back into the swing of things, and I'm thinking I should try and set mini goals for myself. I'm looking to lose around 30 lbs and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for setting mini goals. I've read on some blogs that each goal you set you should reward yourself and I agree but I don't want to make my goals too easy or too hard. I'm 5'1 and currently 150lbs....any suggestions would be wonderful!!!

mini goals are great!! My ultimate goal is 140lbs, but on MFP I set it at 150lbs. This is how mine goes:

    start:175lbs
lose 10lbs and I can get a chocolate martini with dinner...I've given them up...
once at 165lbs my next goal is 150lbs
    at 150lbs : new outfit...or outfits!!
At this point I really have to work hard to get the last 10lbs off so once i hit 140lbs, I'm hoping to get a new camera lens!! whoohoo!!

IT really helps to break it into small victories!

Well if your SW is 150 and your UGW is 120, perhaps make your mini-goals 140 and 130. Personally, I've set my goals into 3 categories, with 3 goals in each. They're in my profile if you care to peek for an idea. :)

How about a new hair style or something that would set off your weight loss? After I lost 40 pounds, I went to a hair salon that did digital images of me with different hair styles. I picked my favorite & have been very happy with it. When people noticed I looked different - I made sure to mention it might be that I lost 40 pounds.

I love mini-goals as you can tell by my signature :D

They really help to keep me motivated, becuase everyone knows that the last 15-20 lbs is always the hardest to lose. I have my mini-goals set at 5 pound differences because that seems more attainable to me, and rewards me more often which is more motivation to lose more weight!
