Has anyone heard of Libra or Happy Scale?
My friend was telling me about it the other day and said it tracks your weight but it won't tell you if you gained weight

They see that you've gained. They just show you the overall trend so you don't focus on one single point.3

I use Libra - it doesn't talk to me to tell me if I'm gaining, but it has a pretty obvious trend line that shows whether weight is trending up or down...3

I had Happy scale on my iPhone and I liked it a lot. When I switched to a Samsung I got Libra and didn't like it as much. Now I use trendweight and I like it a lot. It isn't an app, but I can still look at it on my phone internet or on my desktop. A trending app or website will just take your weight and average and it and shows you if you are trending up (gaining) or trending down (losing). Your weight will fluctuate and watching the trend is more useful than just looking at the daily number. Your weight may be up a couple of days but you are not necessarily gaining weight.1

Libra will tell you if you are trending toward a gain. You put in your desired weight and your desired goal date. Then you start entering your weight. Data points will form a trend line that will tell you your progress. If points are above your goal line you are gaining, at or below, you are maintaining or losing.0

I use Libra on my Samsung, and I like it. I don't use it for anything other than tracking my daily weight and looking for the trend, but it may have additional functions.0

Those apps just sort of average your weigh-ins over a period of time, to minimize the misleading effect of day-to-day scale fluctuations from extra salt, healing, sore muscles, time of month for women, etc.
They will tell you if the average trend of your weight is up or down, but they aren't magic. They can be misleading sometimes. The more uneven your eating (like if you do 5:2 IF, have regular cheat days, or aim at a weekly calorie goal rather than daily), the more likely they are to show uneven trends.
I use Libra, and find it a helpful tool, but IMO it's helpful to understand (statistically) how it works in order to avoid the occasional freakout. A while back, there was a guy in the forum who thought a trending app would tell him his "true weight" every day. He was disappointed. Also angry.4 -
Ha, I missed that discussion Ann!
In this thread cause someone mentioned trigger words for me
Even though I personally use trendweight integrated with Fitbit, weighgrapher.com is another useful web site especially if you want to enter your weight in numbers manually without a supported scale or account.1 -
I use Libra. Seeing the trend helps with understanding weight fluctuations. You learn to not freak out if you put on a couple pounds overnight. You also learn to temper your enthusiasm when you suddenly drop three pounds.1
