Anybody try having a carb day every weekend on the keto diet and have any experiences or words of wisdom for me ? I haven't started the diet yet just learning a bit more about it first

    Hello Nekodadallas,

I want to start off by saying congrats for following a program such as the keto diet. I just posted a question on glycogen depletion and hopefully I get some insight on the matter as well. In my personal opinion and what works best for "me" is cycling carbs every 2 to 3 weeks. What I can tell you is that having a bit of a carb heavy day every 2 or 3 weeks will replenish your glycogen storages and you will feel amazing, life will be amazing and full of color once again, jk. It is healthy for your body to replenish the depletion of glycogen every 2-3 weeks. If you workout, it will also help tremendously. Glycogen is depleted once your body has followed a "strict" diet for about 1-2 weeks, depending on how much weight you carry around, your height, age and all that good stuff. On the third week the body will give its last push of energy. That's why in my opinion and from personal opinion every 2-3 weeks one should have a carb heavy day.

    Hope that helped,
