Protein smoothies
I'm looking for recipes for yummy protein smoothies. The gym I go to makes the best strawberry banana smoothie with vanilla protein powder, but I can't find the ingredients they use (other than the protein) and nothing I've tried so far tastes as good as theirs. What do you all mix with your protein powder?

I generally do this:
1 scoop protein powder (vanilla or chocolate)
1 serving cottage cheese OR plain Greek yogurt
40-50 calories of frozen berries OR banana OR fresh fruit (like this week was pineapple) or a combo of all
1 serving peanut butter OR flax seeds
Spinach
Ice cubes if needed
All blended and in my belly.0 -
1 1/2 cup milk
1 scoop strawberry whey protein
2 cups kale
1 cup frozen raspberries
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 tbsp honey
*It is pretty thick and is more like a shake than a smoothie. But is tastes amazing!! You would think you would taste the kale since theres 2 cups, but you don't.0 -
i modify a little as i go dependant on what i have about or what cal's i need... but generally speaking
300ml's milk (i use full fat)
1 scoop protein (i use choc)
2 scoops porridge oats
1 whole banana
1 handful frozen strawberries
blend.
Sometimes i'll put a couple of scoops of ice cream in, or a tsp of olive oil. If i had flax seed, i'd definitely put a tbsp of that in.0 -
Thanks for the ideas!0

Grabbed a few of these good ideas, thanks!
Im out of milk and really would rather not use water, the greek yogurt sounds perfect.0 -
This works well for me, because it's low-carb and therefore keeps me from getting hungry for several hours. Sugar hates me.
Here 'tis:
1 scoop Spirutein unsweetened vanilla protein powder ( I LOVE this stuff!)
1/2 cup plain unsweetened yogurt
1/2 cup water
4 ice cubes
Vary the amount of water if you want it thinner or thicker.
You can add some berries or a little bit of honey if you want some sweetness and don't mind the extra sugar. I think it's fine as-is, though.0 -

My go to is:
-1 cup skim milk
-1/4 cup liquid egg whites
-1 scoop vanilla whey
-1/4 cup plain 0% Greek yougurt
1 cup frozen fruit mixture (any kind works I use tropical)
Has about 375kcal and about 50g of protein0 -
If it's a texture thing you might want to try adding a bit of xanathan gum. I'm a little boring and just mix my whey with either water, almond milk, or I cook with it.0
