Blended soup using frozen veggies?

I'm weirdly craving some nice blended soup and was thinking I'd just by a bunch of $1 bags of frozen veggies, throw that in some broth, and blend away.

Has anyone done that and what combination did you like best? I'm never been a fan of chunky soups but short of potato/leek or butternut, I haven't had much luck finding recipes for blended soups.

I love Cauliflower soup. Broccoli is pretty good too... I've never used frozen vegies but I'd imagine it would work just fine!

I make a great spinach and minted pea soup, don't know if you can get frozen minted peas? Recipe is to cook an onion and garlic (optional) add 3 pints of stock, 11oz minted peas, bring back to boil, 1lb spinach, back to boil briefly then blend. It's bright green and doesn't come perfectly smooth but tastes really good.

It is how I make most of my soups :-) Just throw whatever we have in the house vegetable wise in the pot with broth (sometimes with a fried onion or garlic to add flavour) and whizz

Anything you like thats on sale. It will all be ALWAYS about how you season the soup. Once you blend them up the only thing might change from various veggie bags will be the colour.

    Suggestions?

I've never made blended soup with frozen veggies, but i do like a good blended butternut squash soup, split pea soup, and carrot soup. :)

That's pretty much how I make soup, sometimes fresh and sometime frozen veg, or a combination. And then I open my spice cupboard and start throwing in a pinch of this or that. Fresh garlic, onion and ginger are also often nice additions.

    Carrot and coriander is good.
    Spinach and nutmeg.
    Broccoli, carrot and curry.
    Cauliflower with cheese.
