I like it as a filler food. Low in nutrients, yes. But also low in calories sooooooo.

Does the trick when needed2

I can't stand it. I like romaine if I want a crunch...otherwise a spring green mix.5

Yup, I like Iceberg for my southwest salads. Yum!0
-
Romaine for the win.2

I don't eat much lettuce except when I get it fresh from the garden, but my husband loves iceberg and always has it on hand so in the garden off season it's about the only lettuce I eat. It adds a nice crunch to sandwiches.0

I had a nutrition instructor call it crunchy water - but sometimes it does the trick. I prefer romaine.3

I prefer darker greens.0

The darker the lettuce, the better1

Always tastes bitter to me :P I prefer spinach.1

We also have both romaine and iceberg on hand. Iceberg lettuce fills out salads and makes a great nibble food when prepping dinner. Romaine grills better, but iceberg wedges with blue cheese can really make my day.2

Nay. there's little nutritional value in iceberg .. my preference is rocket or spinach instead of lettuce.0
-
Nay. I hate when a restaurant charges like 3.50 to add on a "house salad" that is a bowl of iceberg with a tomato wedge 7 shreds of carrot, and a cucumber. Now, replace that lettuce with spinach, or spring mix, or other dark leafy green and I'm much less annoyed. I still want more veggie toppings, but it's significantly better!4

What are you looking for? Value for your money? Nutritional content?

Yay.
Iceberg lettuce gets vilified as no nutritional value, but IMO that is not true! It does provide many micro-nutrients (A, C, K, and folate), a decent amount of fiber, is low calorie... and is pretty tasty on top of it all. It's not a multi-vitamin, but it's got it's place.

I like iceberg, but usually eat spinach for my salads.0

Love it. I like most leafy greens, but sometimes I just love the watery crunch of iceburg. It's not nutritionally void at all. No, it's not a powerhouse, but it's not worthless either.2

Only on tacos and sandwiches.4
-
Fine! Of the greens it has the least nutritional value.
But oh so crunchy!
I'll take everyone else's.2 -
Eh, I don't dislike it but it's probably my least favorite "leafy green." Arugula is my favorite but I also really like spinach or spring mix, especially spring mix with herbs in it.1
-
Nope. All it does is give me gut rot. The darker the better for my greens.0
-
I like all greens, including iceberg in an occasional wedge or on a taco for crunch.
Have a huge variety right now because of my CSO -- romaine, spinach, arugula, rapini. kale, and spring greens, plus radish greens that came with my radishes, and am happily eating all of them (as I would collards or endive or many, many others). Some go better in certain uses than others, but I'll enjoy them all.3 -
It's not really my favorite for salads, but wedge salads have their place and I prefer it for use on things like tacos.
If I'm the only one eating a salad, I prefer spring mix. The rest of the family will only eat that if it's mixed with romaine. I also like red and green leaf and butter lettuces as well.0 -
my husband will not eat a salad with any other greens. i guess it just depends. if you are putting croutons, fattening dressing along with tons of toppings like bacon bits and dried cranberries, if you are only using iceburg, you will probably not have any advantages.
on a burger it is nice to have that crunch if you like it, but probably adds no nutritional value.0 -
yeah it's fine, any lettuce is good, helps fill me up with low cals.0
-
I use spinach instead or romaine.0
-
I get romaine or spinach. I need something with taste.0
-
I used to never eat it. Now I do the Dole American mix with iceburg and shredded carrot/cabbage. So low in calories. I'm just trying to get the job done ya know. Don't want to be cutting for the rest of my life.0
