I like it as a filler food. Low in nutrients, yes. But also low in calories sooooooo.

I don't eat much lettuce except when I get it fresh from the garden, but my husband loves iceberg and always has it on hand so in the garden off season it's about the only lettuce I eat. It adds a nice crunch to sandwiches.

I had a nutrition instructor call it crunchy water - but sometimes it does the trick. I prefer romaine.

Eat whatever whole foods you enjoy. Even the "mostly water" vegetables are perfectly nutritious for the calories, IMO. Examples: lettuce | celery | cucumber

We also have both romaine and iceberg on hand. Iceberg lettuce fills out salads and makes a great nibble food when prepping dinner. Romaine grills better, but iceberg wedges with blue cheese can really make my day.

Nay. there's little nutritional value in iceberg .. my preference is rocket or spinach instead of lettuce.

Nay. I hate when a restaurant charges like 3.50 to add on a "house salad" that is a bowl of iceberg with a tomato wedge 7 shreds of carrot, and a cucumber. Now, replace that lettuce with spinach, or spring mix, or other dark leafy green and I'm much less annoyed. I still want more veggie toppings, but it's significantly better!

Love it. I like most leafy greens, but sometimes I just love the watery crunch of iceburg. It's not nutritionally void at all. No, it's not a powerhouse, but it's not worthless either.

    Only on tacos and sandwiches.
