Hello I've just started on the whole macronutrient thing and have signed up to mfp premium to track my macros. These are the goals it is set me
Calories 1500
Protein 50%
Carbs 20%
Fat 30%

Are these ratios okay as this just seems like a low carb approach. I'm aiming for a calorie deficit, work out 4 times a week, male, 5ft 7 171 pounds- just got off a 2 week all inclusive holiday :-(

The default for the general population is 50% carbs, so you had to do something to get that distribution.

Yeah, are you sure you're reading it right? 50/20/30 would be carbs/protein/fat.

I'm not sure what you're trying to do with your macros, specifically, but most useful things can be done without premium.

    Best of luck, regardless.

I don't remember ever changing the settings so no. What should it be set at?

    The default setting is 50% Carbs/ 30% Fat / 20% Protein.

You can change it, but it works for a lot of people.
