I'm sick of being in the city. I need a crisp cool mountain lake teeming with fish, pine trees over my head during the day & the moon winking at me all through the night. I'll listen to melodramatic owls calling out "who" throughout the night though no answer ever comes, and watch curious raccoons timidly coming for a visit to steal bits of a leftover meal near the fire. Light from the fire reflects in my eyes & I can feeling the cold crisp air bite at the back of my throat as I drink it in and remember that I still live. No distractions, just me alone or perhaps even a passing stranger with a brand new story to chat over a warm fire about everything and nothing. Where life is going? Where has life has been...
