Hi you guys.
Anyone ever find their struggles with the scale ended and the weight finally started consistently dropping off once they increased calories?

Either a coincidence - your weight would drop at that time anyway; or the fact that a higher calorie goal is easier to stick to, which in turn improves adherance to calorie deficit, which is what creates weight loss.7

That, or your exercise level is so high that the calories you were eating before weren't enough to fuel your body properly.
I've also had an issue where I wasn't getting enough healthy fats in my diet. Adding 200 extra calories into my eating plan and incorporating 2% greek yogurt and more avocado into my diet helped me get past a pretty intense plateau.2 -

That depends... I was stuck for 3.5 months and yes I was logging everything and weighing and measuring. I went to maintenance calories for a week then back to lower calorie and I finally started losing again. I can't explain it. I know scientifically it makes no sense but it worked. I had been dieting for a year though so who knows why... When I started dieting again I reduced my expectations and increased my calories (but still below maintenance) and started losing again at a much slower rate. I'm only losing .5 a week now but I am on my last 15 pounds. I've lost 84 pounds to date.1

I lost more weight when I was upping my calories to go to maintenance. I found that with increased calories, my workouts were better and that I could go harder and longer on the bike, and I was less sluggish in general and had a hard time sitting still...fidgeted more, etc.
Essentially, I upped calories and it caused me to move more.1
