New to all this, so right to it. I like my weight, I am not looking to lose more than 5-10 lbs. my question is then how do I go about maintaining my weight but lose the % of body fat I have?? Is this possible or do I just need to focus on losing more weight (cut) then focus on clean bulking after??

Heavy (for you) weight lifting using a proven progressive lifting program. Stronglifts 5X5, Strong Curves and Starting Strength are popular beginner programs. Eat at maintenance.

To piggyback on what @quiksylver296 wrote, aiming to lose fat and build muscle while eating around maintenance is called recomping, which is short for recomposition. There's a good thread here about it:

Why do you like your weight? Many people (mainly men) are obsessed with weighing XXXlbs for no real reason. If your bodyfat is high, you should eat in a calorie deficit until you are in a healthy range.

I'm guessing your weight is around 200 lbs if you think 5-10 lbs isn't all that much, that's cool.

My advice is to start lifting with one of the programs above but eat at a very slight deficit, 250 less than maintenance. Maintenance would be ok too if you add in a few days of cardio a week. I bet by the time you stall on these programs you'll be ready for maintenance.

I'm generally in favour of lifting immediately (however you decide to do your calories) and cutting since I'm guessing you are happy with the amount of lean mass you have.
