So just yesterday I was feeling good, like I might get somewhere on my weight loss journey. Today its a whole different story. I feel like my little bit of exercise is so silly compared to the amount of weight I want to lose. I've lost and gained the same 5 pounds for months now. What made me switch? What makes the people who lose a hundred pounds keep going? how do I keep myself motivated? What do you guys do during the low days?

Thanks, karen

I *****ed and I moaned and whined for 7 or 8 months to my doctor who finally told me to up my protein intake. I too had lost and gained the same few pounds over and over again. Once I did what he said, I finally started to lose again.

You just need to find your kickstart. And don't give up!

During the low days I remind myself how good I feel on the good days, and how I know it's all worth it in the end, even though it won't happen over night. Just keep your head up and keep going!

Figure out what your deepest motivation is. Not something superficial but a really deep reason you want to improve your health. For me it's my desire to spend as much time as I can with my boys (2 & 4) and to watch them grow up, which means getting off BP medication. It's never easy on our feel-bad days to power through, but being able to focus on a substantial goal that drives us can help overcome (or at least mentally power through) the negative moments.

That is a very good question... I have been at this awhile - first i lost 35 pounds then broke my ankle and gained most of it right back. Since then I have been desperately trying to get back to where I was before the broken ankle. Nearly a year later and I have still 6 more pounds to get just to the place I was! - I can't seem for the life of me to break this 170 mark - as soon as I posted it I went straight back up to 171... uggh! I think judging by my calories and exercising I should be farther along than I am.
MFP on my phone has this feature that says if every day were like today you would be 163 in five weeks. So I am now making sure that what ever I do - when I end the day it says that and I will see if it really is true.. i will let you know if five weeks - well nearly four now almost got one down. One day at a time :)
