comparing Weight Watchers to MFP

Two weeks ago I started MFP and working out 4 times a week, I eat my 1200 calories and some of my exercise calories too. So far….nothing has been lost . A while ago I joined Weight Watchers on-line which I have done in the past with much success but canceled my membership because MFP is the same concept but free. Because I purchased 3 month of on-line WW and still have a few days left I decided to go on it today and log all of today’s food. On WW I am allowed 35 points a day and after logging everything I still have 19 points left for the day, that is including tonight dinner. On MFP I only have 59 calories left for the day. Could it be that I am not eating enough?

Either that or you are eating alot of fruit which is no points in weight watchers?? You may need to eat a little more. I did WW and when they switched to their new points plus program I ended up gaining about 5 pounds and I blame that on the "free" fruits. I follow both, and usually go under in calories and over in points, but I limit fruit to 1 or 2 per day. You have to play with it and see what works.0

Perhaps, but others have been saying that they don't loose on WW as they are allowed to eat too much.
Maybe eat more exercise calories? Or eat cleaner? Also 2 weeks isn't very long.0 -
I found the same thing. There are the same in many ways, but you definately get to eat more on WW than you do on MFP. At least, that was my experience! Of course, I had pretty much stopped losing on WW, and have lost almost 7 pounds in 35 days on MFP... so, it's a good trade-off.0

You're food diary is unavailable to be viewed publicly.... so sorry.. I can't help.0

The only thing is MFP is counting the calories from your fruits and veggies and WW isn't. That's what's giving you the points to calories discrepancy. I don't think comparing the 2 would be a good way to determine if you're eating enough. However, you could up your daily caloric intake. There's nothing wrong with experimenting with it to find out what works for you. MFP is just a guideline. You can always customize your plan.0

everyone is different. try for 2-4 weeks upping you cals and see if that works. it may just be that your body is adjusting. if you don't see any difference after that, you may need to change your active status bc you may have it set too low. if that doesn't work, it may just be that you're more comfy with WW then MFP and that is affecting how you lose.0

I've only been eating 1 fruit a day and I do eat most of my exercise calories. This week is TOM so maybe that is why I haven't seen a drop on the scale. I'll keep at it and see what happenes.0

Way back when I did WW a point used to be approximately 50 cals. 35 points is almost 1750 calories + cals for fruit and Veggies. If you are eating 1200(including fruits and veg) + exercise cals , it might not be enough.0

I always had success with WW, but it was never motivating enough to stick with it. I have had better success here at MFP and I feel more accountable, I track better, I'm more motivated by everyone on here. As far as the amount of calories with MFP or points with WW. I think it's best to use the guidlines as just that but find what works for you. And as your body changes you will need to make adjustments. I wish you the best of luck. )0
