It's a way to keep your body from hitting plateaus by having more calories one day than another, so your body never gets used to a certain amount of calories. My avg is 1416 cals a day. but it looks more like this, mon-1416, tue-1235, wed-1700, thur-1316, fri-1416, sat-1556, sun 1416. Something like that, it's nice because it give you built in cheat days but you're not cheating! I love wednesdays now.......YAY today is Wed.

When you eat say 1500, 1600, 1700, 1200, 1200, 1500 cals per day (not in that particular order, just an example)...Just not allowing your body to be too comfortable with a specific intake. Dropping it down low for one day (even under 1200-yes I said it), and then back up to your alloted MFP calories. Can get you out of a plateau!

PS-I have that exact "costume" in your profile LOL :drinker:

Sometimes our bodies get so used to the same things that we need to fool it once in awhile. I have a splurge day every week. I eat whatever I want (usually pizza and garlic bread) and then the next day I am back to my normal eating. I think the zig zagging is ok, but like all things..in moderation.

What about exercise? If my 1200 day is zumba and I burn 250 do I eat extra 250 or leave it?

Yeah, this is my question too. I burn about 600 calories per day working out. Today I was supposed to do 1700 calories for zig zag. Does that mean eat 1700 period, or 1700 + 600 for the calories I burned?
