Loosing weight for vacation / life

I've been on here since May, but when I found out I am going to mexico with my mom and aunt on a girls trip Aug 20-27 it has really given me a kick in the pants to work harder. My mom is 10 lbs less than me and my aunt 15... I'm in my twenties and they are in their fifties! Anyway, I started being very strict 8 days ago and have already dropped 4 lbs. I havent been overly hungry, and most the time I feel content. To stay on track I made this poster board listed below. It has every day before I leave for mexico with a check box. If I eat my allotted 1200 calories, I put a sticker in the box. If I exercise too, I put a check mark next to the box. If I dont do either, I get a sad face. So far, no sad faces!

Its almost like an advent calendar. I get excited everyday to put that sticker up on the board. Thought I would share this because it seems to be working for me.

Anyone else trying to loose weight before a vacation? What is your plan and your goal? I wont stop after Mexico, I'm going to keep going and make this a change for life! :)

    BTW, how the heck do you post a picture from photobucket? I cant figure it out. haha

    What an adorable idea! Some people are really motivated by visuals, and this obviously works for you. Love it :D

    Ironically we are headed your direction! Our son is going to start Cal Poly so we are going to start@Pismo and head to Santa Barbara/Monica and further south! I want to look good as a college student parent (& my 3 others). Not to mention, I want to look like I could live in SoCal!! Good luck on your journey!!

    Congrats to your son! Getting into Cal Poly is a huge accomplishment. I'm going into my senior year as a graphic communicaton major. He will love it here and my mom loves coming down to visit me so she can be at the beach! (She recommends staying at the Sandcastle Inn). Have a great time on your trip and make sure to stop by Firestones with your family for the best tri-tip sandwich in California! (although it might be better to get a salad ;)
