So I've lost over 50 pounds so far....not all on this site but right now for the last 3 weeks my weight has gone up and down the same 7 pounds no matter what I do. I drink enough water, I sleep well sometimes, I'm changing my excercise my food everything.....so please tell me there are other people that have alot of weight to loose that go through the same thing.......any suggestions would really help as well or is this completely normal???? I've decided not to weigh myself for two weeks....the other thing is I'm just above 300 pounds and have seen the 200's in 10 years and I'm so freaking close it's driving me nutters...like banannas peeps...help.

I lost 54 since joining the site 65 all together. I get that way sometimes usually that time of month for me. But i notice when the scales stalled or teetering back and forth. I feel down and its a set back. But then i pull out the old trusty measuring tape and bam ive lost some inches...

I would love to know also whats worked for everyone else.

But stay positive you will get through this...

My suggestion is what you have already decided to do: stay off the scale.

I would also mix it up: do something different. Doesn't really matter what it is: exercise harder, drink a lot more water, skip dinner for 2 nights... cut your calories down to 600 per day for 2 days....

(no haters, please....it works for me....)

Nothing bad will happen to you in 2 days! You will just be shaking things up a bit. And, when you finally step back on the scale.....

I've only lost 22 this time around but in my youth I lost quite a bit while preparing for the Army. I noticed the same thing. After a while the scale stopped moving lower and sometimes even went the wrong way. I "taped-in" every weekend at the recruiter's office and sure enough I was losing inches where I didn't want them and gaining them where I did (my arms, legs, neck)

    Keep up the awesome work!

I'm in the same boat - I've lost 55lbs since Nov. 2010 - and now I've hit a plateau / yo-yo. Up & down with the same couple pounds Grrrr.

I know why to some extent - we're having a summer heat wave and I've lost the energy to REALLY exercise like I should.
My workplace has no air conditioning and by the time I get home - I'm beat!!

I try to stay active but with 100+ deg weather outside it's hard to force myself to go out and walk or jog!! I also don't want to chance the possibility of having heat stress, etc...

I also confess to making some bad food choices recently. It's frustrating because I KNOW what I need to do - just doing it is the kicker!

So I've decided to try and just maintain the 55lb loss until the weather cools off some - then really get back on track. This heat wave can't last forever!!

Thank Goodness for MFP - at least I can still track my food and come here for support.
