                    Hello,
Not sure if I am sedentary of lightly active.
I have a desk job but I walk for around and hour 5 days a week (i'm not including my gym trips).
Which one would I be?

interesting question, i wondered the same thing when i was doing the profile assessment.
there was a new study btw, that showed the effects of a sedentary lifestyle (particularly those who sit at a desk for 8 hrs/day) regardless of whether they exercised/worked out after work!

I am assuming the hour of walking a day is up and down many times a day not an hour straight, correct? If so, that is the same as my job and I put sedentary. If you are walking for an hour straight then I would put lightly active.0

its 30 min to work 30 min home
i don't count walking up and down everyday0 -
I have myself as lightly active even though I have a desk job due to the all my out of work activity.0

I'd say sedentary (at work). Being active means, to me, getting your heart rate up. I have a desk job, too, but am up and down all day. My body is used to this activity, so it's not a challenge at all. Figure in your gym time where the real workout is happening.0

I put sedantry but include my daily walking in exercise (as I stick on my trainers to do my walking and try to beat my time etc.. so I do get my heart rate up!)0 -
I eat some back, but not all. I can't eat that much! I stick between 1300-1600 with exercise. I know I should eat more, but I workout in the evenings, most of the time, and cannot get much more in. For those that exercise earlier in the day (say mornings), it may be easier to adjust their calories and nutrients. On the weekends I walk early, but then get busy with yard work or house work and sometimes have forgotten to eat lunch or snacks. I have just started using Jillian's Natural Whey Protein pwd. and have that with milk, yogurt and fruit, so I can get my calories up while eating something that's good for me. It's supposed to help replenish some of what you've lost in exercise.0

I have a desk job and work out a lot after work (6 hours a week on average) and put in "sedentary" but always eat most/all of my exercise calories.0
