question about MFP

Why doesn't strength training "count" as far as MFP is concerned?
If I go for a walk, I get credited with 100 extra calories.
But when I do body weight exercises or lift weights - when I'm huffing and puffing, believe me - MFP doesn't give any "credit" for it.
Why is that?

You have to log your strength training under cardio to get a calorie estimate...the strength session is to log the movement along with sets/reps/weight.1

What he said.....^^^^
Just type in Strength Training or if you are doing body weight exercises, maybe type in Calisthenics. It will spit out an estimate that may or may not be accurate. Just note, strength training doesn't burn all that many calories.1 -
The way I do it it definitely burns more than walking....0
