Weight gain after working out?

Okay, so I'm 137 lbs trying to get to 110. It's very hard. I'm eating around 900-1000 calories a day biting typically 300-500 calories from cardio. (I've hurt my knee so I wasn't able to do much cardio yesterday) I worked on toning my upper body. When I got home I weighted myself and I gained 4lbs!!! How did this happen?! And if it's from water what do I need to do to lose the water weight?

I've heard drinking more water does it, but is this true. To be honest I drink more tea than water. I've also been having a lot of soup to lose weight, but it's high in sodium. :( someone please help :(

    I'm an ultra runner. I used to be quite put out when, after running 50km the previous day, I would weigh a couple of pounds more.
    All of the research that I've done states that after a workout, your muscles will absorb more water in an effort to heal themselves.

    If all you say is true I see the following issues.

    1. Calories - You're at too much of a deficit and are almost certainly malnourished. Add on at least 300 calories to where you are now use fats as your energy and protein to fill you up - Google low GI carbs for Carb ideas.

    2. You're Dehydrated, probably all the tea and salty soup. Drink a lot more water... As water.

    3. You're likely losing a lot of muscle due to those soups...and the ridiculous calorie deficit. Your muscle assists in the burning of fat. EAT more protein.

    4. Be aware that weighing daily is extremely inaccurate. Weigh once a week for instance at 06:30 on a Monday every week... You'll get a more accurate reflection of your position.

    Thanks! I'll look those things up! But I eat a lot of veggies and so forth. I've heard it's healthy to lose about 2lbs a week but how would you suggest I do so? More calories and cardio?

    I don't eat junk food and do weight training as well :/ I'm kind of at a stalemate. How can I raise my metabolism?

    Wow. You are NOT eating enough, at all!!! You're probably losing muscle from this as well. You need to replace soup with something that has some substance. You're lacking nutrition. What you're doing to your body is NOT good. Please eat more protein!!! In the long run, eating like this will probably not stick as you are depriving your body from what it needs. Crash diets usually lead back to weight gain.
