Well you shoulda because a 310lb Gorilla just came into the room!
A couple of years back I tried the 5/2 diet after watching a Horizon program on the BBC. I tried it and it took off the Christmas pounds. After a while things intervened and I stopped.
Unusually, from the March when I stopped through the summer, my weight ballooned. Normally my weight falls with the increased activity through the summer, gardening, walking.
A year ago I decided to do something about it and bought an eBike. I rode 2,000 miles over our mountainous countryside on it. The ebike computer tells me I burned about 40,000 calories, or roughly 20 calories a mile. Or about 200 calories an hour.
I. did. not. lose. a. single. pound.
So here I am trying simple calorie counting with this app/food diary.
According to calculations my maintenance calories are about 3300, yes, thats on a 6' 4" well built frame, rugby player territory.
So 2400 calories really ought to have some effect, and with 3300 a day I should be able to afford an indian meal on a Friday and the occasional beer or two.
Tally ho!
