I'm new here and logging daily now. I love it so far and feel great. I'm wondering if you guys use any apps to find dish recommendations

Hello! I don't really use apps to find dishes, but I try to keep it simple when I cook. I also track my food as well. If I eat out, most restaurant these days have calories display on there menu for each meal or you can find it online. As for your question, I found some apps online. See below.

I just look at the menu before hand and preplan, I have MFP up and if the restaurant isnt in the data base, i try to either find a similar dish, or manually enter ingredients. eating out will never be 100% accurate, but getting close and over estimating for me helps/.

@pfrankis Some menus will have the ingredients listed for the different meals they're serving

If not, ask the servers. They know how the chef and cooks make them in the kitchen.

I've always asked their opinion, I've never asked directly for a "healthy option" but they go ahead and tell me which meals are healthier because I guess they eat them too and when they're surrounded by food all the time they also need to make the healthier choice :)

I like to look up the menu before hand. If that's not available, most places have some type of grilled chicken or grilled salmon. Then I stick to veggies or a salad for sides.
Or, I plan on having a large meal, eat light throughout the day and enjoy an evening out.

Unless it's a special occasion where I don't care, I make changes to meals to suit my own requirements - most places are happy to oblige! I don't go to many places that have nutrition information available

I have a dog that has been specifically trained to put his paw on the healthiest meal on any menu, getting him into the restaurant and convincing the manager is the toughest part. On a serious note though, many restaurants have nutritional values on their websites and some even on the menus.

You guys are awesome. For me, once I'm in the restaurant it's not too bad. But I have a hard time deciding where to go. So I use the HelpMeOrder app to get dish recommendations from my friends and the local community

one meal now n again wont ruin your progress, If I see something on the menu I like? I have it! My own experience PT training tells me which is the healthier option if I need to but, If I fancy profiteroles for pud I,ll have em!
