In my experience, the HRM is a more accurate device than the machines as it has a good connection to you, so can better give you the facts.

I purchased two of them and they are both wrong one barely gives me numbers for an intense workout and the other gives me thousands. To be honest nothing is going to be completely accurate but I'd rather it underestimate than than overestimate you know

    That's VERY incorrect.

HRM's are rough estimates, as the heart rate isn't the only thing that comes into play...for instance...your heart rate could go bat S*it crazy in a sauna because it's trying to keep you cool....but you won't burn many calories.

Yes. Id rather be on the safe side,, thats why I got It as I thought the machines and the database on here gave a pretty generous reading.,.. LOL Could be why Im not dropping the weight,LOLThanks for your thoughts<)

I have a PolarFT7, brought it to a hotel last weekend, and was using machines in Gym. The reads were totally different. My hrm gave way less calories burned. I go by my HRM, as the machines I was using didnt take my height into consideraition. I could be 4 foot or 6 foot weighing 142 pounds, so how could we both be burning same cals you know?
