A friend and I are going out to eat tonight and decided to go to a caribbean restaurant in town. A friend told her about it and roughly where it is so I am not able to look up the menu/ nutritional facts like I wanted. I have my first ever goal set for this weekend and I am only a pound away from meeting it and don't want this to set me back at all. So I was looking for some suggestions. I feel like most restaurants like this serve similar type food so does anyone have an ideas on more low cal or healthier options I could choose at a place like this? Or just any other ideas to offer for what I can do once i get there?

Thanks so much guys!! :)

Caribbean food tends to be high in sodium & fat (depending on what you have)...

I have eaten Caribbean food quite regularly (my family are caribbean) during my weight loss - just smaller portions.
I usually have it on a Sunday, and what I have done is have a brunch style breakfast then nothing until the main meal.

Also, have a good workout the day before and/or on the day & drink loads of water....

This is what has worked for me....

I love Carribbean food!!! If it was me, I'd be ordering a big ole plate of callaloo! It's like greens, but the island version. Also some jerk chicken with rice and peas. I always make jerk chicken at home wtih sauce that I bring home from Jamaica from my favorite restaurant in Negril called Three Dives. Yum Yum!! You're making me hungry!

Rice and peas is evil! It is full of coconut milk. Callaloo is good (if they do it I have never been to a restaurant that does calloo myself)

I don't know what kind of options there are as I have never been there before and my friend doesn't know the name just where it is. That's why I was asking for some ideas to keep a look out for when i do go that way I can feel a little bit more confident in eating out tonight since I have no idea.

oh do they not have a website?

probably best to stick to things like jerk chicken, callalo plain white rice fish (not fried) Things like rice and peas, dumplings, fried chicken, anything in a sauce are not very good. Also ackee and saltfish is very salty and fried in a lot of oil

Sorry without really knowing I am just randomly trying to think of things that my family cook
