First Timer

Hello All! I have been using my fitness pal for just under 2 weeks to track my eating habits. I love this program! It puts everything into perspective. I am finding I am under my calories but over on my carbs & sugars. Of course! Doesn't surprise me at all!

My first goal is to lose some weight before my employer's HRA's at the end of July. Then my goal is to continue losing prior to my nephew's wedding in October. However, I don't want to just lose weight. I want to become more fit, healthier all the way around.

Thank you for the welcome! I'm liking this site more & more. I just posted a question.....is it bad to be under my calories most days?

Not if you have eaten 1200 calories or more. At least that's what they tell me. You get a warning then, and you're encouraged to eat some more. I try to keep close to my suggested calories, but not eat up too many of the calories I gain by exercising.

nathalietzz5258...have you tried using Stevia instead of granulated sugar or sweet & low (or other artificial sweetener)? I have also found that if I start craving say an Oreo, if I grab an apple and get out of the kitchen area this seems to help. Not always, but most of the time.
