Running

Hello,

I have been tunning anywhere from 12-15 miles per week. Ive noticed I've lost inches but have not dropped any pounds. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

If running is new to you, or if you increased intensity/mileage, could be water retention?

Are you logging your food? New exercise can make you hungry and you can end up subconsciously eating more.

How long has it been? It's perfectly normal to not lose weight every week, even if you are doing everything perfect. And new exercise can cause water retention.

If you are logging, how are you measuring your portions? Double check the database entries you are using are correct. If you are eating back all your exercise calories, they might be a bit inflated so try eating back less of them.

Lost inches is what you ultimately want, i think. Scale number is just a number, after all. That's your very real progress, congratulations.

When I initially started running I didn't lose 1lb for about 6 weeks, then the weight started falling off...like 3 lbs a week falling off. I was running about 15 miles a week with one day a week being a long run of 6 miles. The other days were short runs with weight lifting in between those days. Once I started the long runs my weight really came off super quickly.
