edited November 20 in Health and Weight Loss
Hi, I just turned 40 in June and instead of sitting back and doing nothing, I decided to get on a weight loss program. I started in march of this year. So far I have lost 30 pounds with another 20 to go. My starting weight was 240 pounds. For the last three weeks I have not been able to get past the 210 mark dispite what I do. I am unwilling to starve myself just to hit that goal. I cut out added sugar like muffins, sugar in coffee and such.
On the exercise front, I have built up my running from a mile to my record of 10 miles. I run three times a week and so far since March, I have ran over 150 miles.

I am wondering what others have done when they get to a point when weight seems to want to stick on.

Are you counting calories and logging everything with as close to 100% accuracy as possible (i.e. using a food scale)?

Sounds like you might want to try shaking up your fitness routine a bit; your body is likely getting used to, and more efficient at, running. Try adding some resistance training. Also, check your sodium intake, and make sure you are getting adequate sleep. You'll break through this. Best of luck!

How many calories are you eating?
How are you measuring your portions and how consistently are you logging?
Have you adjusted your calorie level since you've lost the 30 lbs?

Congrats on the first 30 by the way :drinker:
