A good nap

Options
Anyone else just LOVE a good nap after a workout? I'm a heavy cyclist, my short rides are an hour and my long rides range from 2-5. I usually need a nap after anything longer than 90 minutes. I used to feel so guilty about this thinking if I sleep I've negated the extra burn - weird logic. Now I embrace sleep whenever I can because it makes me stronger and happier. I'm curious to hear if anyone has any thoughts on the post workout nap? It certainly helps me recover!

it's one of my favourite weekend things. go lifting, do errands, come home and sleep. i only do it when i get the whole process started early enough though. naps depress me and mess me up so badly if they leak too far into the second half of the day.

if i time it right, i can wake up from the nap at around/just before noon and it's almost like tricking my brain into thinking it's having a three-day weekend

It takes a few hours for my runner's high to wear off, but a short 20 minute nap ends up being in my schedule most days. It feels good to get a little bit of rest before continuing with my day.

I get up for work at 4:30 am and I am off work at 2:30 or sometimes earlier so I take a nap when I get home a lot then workout. :)

Can't take naps because the really mess me up.The only time that naps are good for me is if I am sick or recuperating from a long trip or jet-lag.

I'm so envious of nappers. Trying to nap just leaves me all discombobulated.

There's something about swimming that makes me want a nap...more so than other workouts. But I used to fall asleep after a long run.
