Does anyone know if you wear a hrm while you are strength training, will that actually be calories burned? I would like to post them when I put it in as exercise, you all know that the site doesn't post calories earned for weight lifting. Any advice?

Its dubious. It's the calories burned WHILE you are doing the weights. But the problem with that is, weight training elevates caloric burn for hours and hours after you actually work out. So unless you keep it on all day and subtract your normal daily calories, it's not a true measure of how much you burned.0

yes but this follows the same method. People have put in numbers they have gotten when they did the HRM while weight training.
Really my point is, don't weight train to lose weight, weight train to body shape. Because you can't really weight train AND lose significant weight anyway. You can maybe stay very close to caloric break even and gain some muscle while losing fat, but you won't lose weight that way, you will shrink your body fat % (which personally, I think is way better anyway), and increase muscle mass, but you won't drop LBS.
I'm not saying don't add weight training to your workout if your trying to lose weight, I'm saying don't expect to lose weight if you are exclusively weight training. Theres a very distinct difference.0 -
No I only lift so that when I do drop enough weight, I don't have all this saggy muscle :laugh:0

hehe, you say that now (I did too), but when you reach maintenance, come back and lets talk again, weight training is a little bit addictive. :glasses:0
