Going to the County Fair

I'm going to the county fair for the first time ever and am oh, so excited!
I am told there will be lots of fatty, fried foods there, but I'm not worried about that because I'm not having any cravings and know that I'll be able to walk by them and not touch them!
However, I"m curious as to how to log in all the walking I'll be doing. We plan to be there about 6 hours or so with some leisurely walking, and of course, lots of stops and starts. How will I ever be able to keep track of that for calories burned???

a pedometer sounds like a great idea for this!?0

In situations like that I usually assume that I'm walking really slowly, and spend half my time actually standing around and not walking. So for that day I would log 3 hours, walking at the 2mph pace.
I teach motorcycle classes, and that's kind of like that. Lots of standing around, some walking. In a good day I'm on my feet just about continuously for for 7 hours - but my pedometer says I only walked about 6 miles.0 -
Just an update... I did really really well at the county fair today!
So what I did was I timed my walking cuz we actually walked for along time, then sat, then walked again then sat then walked. So I used my Memo pad in my phone to log the minutes. It was easier than I expected it was gonna be.
Then, when it came time to eat, I made some healthy choices. My first was a grilled chicken snack wrap at a hamburger stand. It was small and easy and just the right amount of food. While we were standing in line for that, I noticed there was a stand across the way called Saladman. So for dinner, I suggested to my Mom that we split a salad, because I noticed that they were kind of big. So we did! And since she can't eat as much as I can, and I was really interested in the lettuce part, I let her pick which salad we ate ... she chose the crabmeat salad ... and let her eat what she wanted off the top and when she was done, I got to eat all the lettuce with some of the fixin's. It worked out great!
And even better, I talked my mom out of buying a deep-fried twinkie!!!0 -
Well done. That's how you do it. :-)0
