Hello! Question on the amount of protein that I should be eating on a daily basis....based on my lean body mass. I am overweight and starting a new workout program! Thank you

Yes, many people recommend 1 gram per lb lbm when in a deficit, although it's a sliding scale based on multiple factors (size of deficit, level of leanness, training etc). The leaner you get the more important it becomes.0

1 gram per pound of lean body mass. In my opinion you don't have to be exact. You can get a pretty good estimate from the various calculators out there. I target 1-1.2 g/lb lbm each day. I fluctuate somewhat around that number, but the average is pretty close.
Edited for an example. My current weight is 200 even, I shoot for 160g protein as my estimated LBM is about 155-165.0 -
I follow the 1g/lb of lean mass too0
