Tracking through pregnancy

Hi, I've previously been using this to stay on track with 1200 cals for weight loss but am now pregnant. My bmi is v high (I'm only size 14-16 but v short) and I've been classed as high risk for it.

I want to prove to my consultant that I'm eating healthily and have a healthy lifestyle so want to keep tracking but without restricting Cals. How would I best change my settings to reflect that?

Eat at maintenance. Speak to yout doctor about whether it would be ok for you to run a very small deficit.

Agreed. Put your settings to maintain. I am also pregnant btw. I put on a lot more weight than i should have at 18wks. So im using MFP to keep track of what i eat.

This. I am in a similar boat, but not pregnant. (Starting IVF in January.) I do know that my RE was very specific about how many calories I should eat and that once I become pregnant, we will need to adjust based on trimester.

Your best bet is to discuss with your OB. I would not trust strangers on the internet with this kind of advice. We don't know your specific needs/medical history to provide the right plan for you and your baby.

I'm pregnant too. Since I'm overweight I'm eating at a deficit. My maintenance is like 2000 calories so I'm eating 1950 a day. Doctor said is fine to do. I'm 19 weeks pregnant though and I've gained 18 lbs :(

If you want to not gain or lose, eat at maintenance :)

Talk to your OB about calories. I'd still track and focus on nutrients. Are you getting enough protein (my midwife wants me shooting for 80-100 g)? Enough healthy fats? Carbs? It should be fairly balanced. I aim for 20%p and 40% each of the others, but it fluctuates. What about calcium sources? Set your calories to at least maintainence for now, but I'd ask you Dr specifically what it should be. Maybe she can refer you to a prenatal dietician.

Im a 14\16 and 5'4 and 35 weeks pregnant with my second. I track off and on but mostly just focus to sticking to whole foods and getting as much nutrients as I can.

My OB was cool with 40 ish lbs gained and I'm at about 30. Totally healthy pregnancy, no issues with BP, or GD, etc. (Am having a 10+ pound baby, just like my first)

I honestly wouldn't worry. I was a size 26 with my first and I had ZERO health issues or issues with that pregnancy. I wasn't even labeled high risk or am I now.

Weight gain doesn't really correlate to a healthy pregnancy or not. I'd set it to mat and then ask your OB about what your calorie goal should be.

I'm in the same situation! Newly pregnant and overweight. I talked to my nutritionist about my calorie consumption, she told me for the first trimester I could stay at 1200 as long as all my calories come from super healthy and clean sources, If I'm hungry it's okay an extra snack under the same guidelines, and on the second trimester I can increase about 300 calories.
