How to break a Weight Loss Plateau??

So, I'm currently 19 and I started my weight loss journey last June at 240 lbs. I've lost around 50lbs since then, but I've hit a plateau in January that won't go away!
I've been eating around 1,200 calories and I would do cardio for about 30-35 mins in the morning Monday thru Friday.
Any suggestions on how to get out of this plateau? Thanks!

@malibu927 I use MyFitnessPal to determine how many calories I'm eating.

Weighing your food can make a huge difference. Food scales are relatively inexpensive. It's the best place to start to ensure your calorie count is accurate. Most people who are experiencing a plateau are eating more than they think they are.5

@eriellegonzalez01 I'm not sure you understood malibu927's question. We all know that myfitnesspal tells us how many calories to eat. How are you determining that you know how many calories you are eating? Do you look and guess? Do you use spoons and measuring cups? Do you use a kitchen food scale?0

Do you enjoy the exercise you are doing? Most of us encourage people to consider some form of resistance/strength training to help preserve lean mass, meaning in the long run you lose mostly fat instead of fat and muscle. In the end exercise should be something you enjoy doing and want to continue. Losing weight comes from calorie intake, exercise has other health benefits.2

@JeromeBarry1 Ohhhh. Well, I was using measuring cups and spoons the first four months, but then I moved in with my Dad and he doesn't have any of those things, so I started to eye everything...
@usmcmp Well, honestly, I'm getting pretty bored of my workouts. I've been doing the same thing for a year. I've always been fond of swimming, but I don't have a pool nor do I know anyone who has one. And I've heard of strength training before, I just don't know what it consists of...0 -
Perhaps your Dad would be willing to buy your kitchen scale. I mean, I'm a dad and I'm wrapped around my girl's little finger. Worst case, use an online tool and your hand to guestimate the measure of things.

Eyeballing can be incredibly inaccurate. A scale can costs as little as $15 and accuracy is generally the main culprit for stalled weight loss1

If you're at a calorie deficit, you'll lose weight. If you're not losing weight, you're not at a deficit. Make sure your cals are accurate (weigh everything) and either reduce calories eaten (little by little assuming you're not already at a minimum) or increase calories burned (exercise/walk/move more). That's all.1

Look up nerd fitness, or google bodyweight workouts to find examples of strength training, you don't need any equipment to start2
