Any bariatric duodenal switch patients here?

I'd really like your input on your surgery and success as well as complications and concerns. This is the type that my surgeon has suggested for me. I'm prepping for one and I read about the hazards of this surgery and wonder if I should switch to the bypass. My insurance won't pay for the SIPS so that's out of the question for me. Are you glad you chose this procedure? Would you do it again? Thanks for any input.

I had the DS 1/14/16, and would recommend it imo over RNY. I haven't had any complications and as long as you are compliant with the DS requirements (daily vitamin taking for life/ high protein, high fat, low carb diet) you should be successful. As with ALL of the wls there are risks, but I'm glad I had a true DS. My highest weight was 381, surgery weight 367 and current weight is 1431
