I'm scared too but I'll take that any day over being obese.7

I've lost over 140 lbs & am choosing to get some excess skin removed in the next couple months. I was able to keep it pretty minimal, though, by building muscle & exercising regularly. Also, eating protein (to sustain the muscle during weight loss) and drinking plenty of water (HALF your body weight in water ounces) is a great way to keep your skin healthy. LOTS of fruits & veggies provide nutrition, like vitamin E & C, that helps keep skin healthy, too! I feel that the loose skin is totally worth it, though. It's a sign that you kicked butt & took names & did something that people dream about all the time but never do! SO proud of you for being on your journey!! Keep up the awesome work!!11

I always wanted to get a boob job when i was younger. Once i had kids, they grew and so did my weight. I was worried about losing my boobs when losing weight since i was so used to having them now. My boobs did go down and I'm so glad they did. I fit perfectly into tops and dresses and they don't get in the way when exercising.
As for excess skin, you'll probably always end up with a bit left over, but keep drinking water and moisturizing that area to help with the appearance. With the right kind of clothing, you can 'hide' it without being obvious.
I know that is not what you want to hear, but I've managed it and I'm happy. Much happier than being obese.3 -

No sense in over worrying. Cross that bridge when you get to it.6

That's true geocitiesuser, but if I'm going to loose the only thing anyone has ever found physically attractive about me then I would like to know if there's anything I can do to prevent it now before its too late ☺0

A lot depends on your age. I am 62 and lost over 100 lbs. I have some excess skin. Some did shrink but there is some that I will just have for the rest of my life (without surgery). If you are younger your skin will be a little more elastic and may shrink a little more. Good luck, it's all worth it!0

I lost 80 pounds in 2012 - early 2013 and I have kept it all off.
When I reached my goal I was happy with my body overall, but I had some deflated skin in my trouble spot areas and especially in my lower pooch.
It wasn't too bad considering I lost a lot of inches everywhere, I've been overweight most of my life/all of my adulthood and I was slightly older.
For me, what seemed to help was:
- Losing on the slower side. I figure this helps the skin adjust better.
- Strength training several days per week (weights, body weight work, Pilates etc.).
- Adding extra moisturizing to my trouble spot areas by using creams that contained collagen. I did this as was losing and after I reached my goal.
- I add collagen powder to my protein smoothies everyday to assist with elasticity. Our bodies start producing less and less as we age.
- I also drank a lot of water and eventually cut out the store-bought juices, soda and alcohol.
- I made sure to hit my protein goals everyday.
About your boobs comment I understand. Hitting those weights really helped me minimize sagging.
It took about 2 years of maintenance and everything but my lower belly firmed up which took much longer - year 4 of maintenance (currently). So I guess add time and have patience to my list too. Now my body is firm and tight and I'm so happy!
It really does vary with each person. I know people whose bodies bounced right back after a big loss (most are younger and/or they workout hard) and others who are still dealing with loose skin several years into maintenance (most don't workout and/or older).
Good luck to you. It's so, so worth it!!!

Start saving money. I don't mind loose skin and missing boobs on me, but if it's important to you there's a surgeon for that.1

To be honest my boobs have started going down, and I was having an off day when I noticed I literally asked my husband if he would care if I lost them, he told me not to be stupid and that being healthy is 1000X more important. The next day I realized he was right. You may have some loose skin, but you wont know until you get there, also your boobs may shrink, but you also wont know that until you get there, I think you will be extremely happy with your end result even if you are a little smaller up top and have a little extra skin2

I have lost 87lbs in 11 months lots of loose skin around my stomach, thighs, arms, and boobs( went from DD to C) eh it sucks but like everyone else said its better to be healthy with loose skin then obese any day!1

I've lost 130lbs, and there is definitely loose skin, but it's not visible in clothing, and even naked it is infinitely more aesthetic than being fat.2
