Sweating

I sweat alot when I work out even after I take a shower. My routine is work out at gym, take shower at gym and I can't stop sweating afterwards. I feel dirty after taking a shower because I continue to sweat. Fixing my hair is a pain because I have to use the blow dryer. Is there something that I can do to reduce the sweating. I do stretch each time I work out and I figured that would be my cool down period plus shower but it usually doesn't stop till my 20 minute drive to work with AC on full blast. Any advice would def. help!

Can you wait any longer before showering at the gym? If it stops around 20 minutes after you could either wait and shower after, try taking a colder shower, get in the pool if your gym has one. I know when I go hiking I still sweat for about 10 minutes when im in the car with the AC blasting, I shower when I get home. You could try that as well although I understand you may not want to wait that long to shower, but you should be done sweating by the time you get home, you could take a shower then.1

Have you tried taking a cold shower to help cool your body down? I find that helps me.2

I'm the same way, it takes about 10-20 minutes to cool down after lifting at the gym. I can barely write or type for another 20 minutes.0

I sweat like crazy and take a long time to cool down, too. Blow drying hair certainly doesn't help! I try to take a shower and not wash my hair every day, just use a dry shampoo and put it up in a ponytail or a messy bun. You'll still look appropriate for work and feel much cooler sooner!0

I come from a long line of sweaters (we can make anything look like hard work....) my solution is to have the washing up portion of the shower followed few minutes of cool water running (or if I'm getting home from a run or bike ride a quick dunk in our freezing cold pool.....)2

This is why I don't/can't workout on my lunch break. I sweat way too much for way too long. The only thing I find that helps is to give myself ample time to cool down (preferably in a cool, not humid place), drink a glass of cold water, and take a cool shower. Still I've mostly just resigned myself to the fact that I'm a sweater. I'll continue to sweat for up to 30 minutes after a good workout0

Are you properly cooling down at the end of your workout?1

Looks like you might need 20 minutes more than you have been affording yourself to properly cool down.0 -
Are you fairly new to exercise? Are you seriously overweight? I found that as I lost weight and improved my fitness, the sweating decreased.0

Cool showers work for me.0

I sit in puddles of my own sweat on nearly all exercises. Everyone in gym is, it's damn hot. What I do is some dynamic stretching for 10-15min after lifting. I then sit and drip on locker room bench for another 10 before shower. I then take a lukewarm shower. I hate cold water and won't do cold even if it helped. I still sit in car after for good 10min wiping my head and arms with a small towel as I drink the 2nd or 3rd liter of water since the workout started.
So no I really don't have any advice. I just drip and hydrate. Eventually it stops.0 -

I thought loosing weight and increasing my fitness would help my sweating. No such luck. I've run a half marathon distance and I am currently working on marathon training. I think I sweat more NOW - even with a 45 pound loss.
@Skmellyg It takes me a while to cool down as well. Try cold showers and the hairdryer on the cool setting. It helps me.0 -
I had a friend once tell me while we were running "Your body is really efficient at trying to cool itself."2

I second/third the suggestion of a cool shower. You can start out warm and gradually decrease the temperature so it's not a shock.0
