Hi,

Just a quick post. I'm wondering if the app calculates the marcos/calories correctly??

I have attached the picture of what I will eat today.

According to this I hit my Calories Target = 2400cal, but if I am calculating my calories form macros, it doesn't match 2400cal. 227g of Carbs, 222g of Protein and 56g of Fat comet to 2300cal.

Please advise if it is better to track the macros or calories? where does the error come from?

Thanks

There's likely to be rounding "errors" in the macros and calories.... There may also be fibre missing from the carb totals...

Id pick one over the other. I don't check calories but I do make sure the macros match, then use those entries.

A lot of your entries are UK labels which will be net carb totals.

The food database is manly entered by users of MFP.

They can be from any where in the world and they enter the data from the packaging.

Now if they are UK based the packaging will list the carbs as the total carbs minus the non soluble fibre. That is net carbs.

If the user used a US label it would be the gross carb amount. Which includes the non soluble fibre.

You'd be better off just using USDA entries and cross checking for accuracy.

My guess is that the Fry Light is maybe under-counting the fat grams?
Also zero cals in the Glutamine? Not something I'm familiar with, but is that right?
And the buffalo wing sauce seems super low cal... also may be right, but that surprised me.

If it's super important, then you could do the multiplication for each line item to check, but the macro grammes are only every shown to the nearest gramme. Annoys me too sometimes!

    (But hurrah for Lidl, right?!)
