I'm a female that's 5"7 and i've suffered with ED for a very long time. Very confused with my diet and my health. Was vegan for a long time (A year) and I wasn't satisfied with my body still and felt very bloated. I'm trying Keto ( Without meat because of morals and cheese because of allergies) and i've been on it for about a week now. My stomach has been flatter but I feel deprived of things I love to eat, like rice cakes, beans, fruit, whole grains, sweet potatoes and whole wheats. Been eating eggs, nuts, tuna, spinach and some veggie patties every day. Sadly been eating about 400-600 cals per day as well. Very confused on what to do with my diet. Help please?? :(

Your first step is going to have to be to talk to a professional experienced in helping people with ED. I actually feel like it's irresponsible for strangers on the internet to dive into these kind of things.

You need to speak to your treatment team

I would agree that you need to talk to a professional. Especially with your background, I think that any kind of diet that restricts food groups (or types) is unhealthy and a cover for continued disordered thinking/eating. Best of luck to you OP.

I agree with others, seeing a professional is extremely important.

400-600 calories is simply not enough to fuel your body. Your body needs a certain amount of calories, nutrients and minerals to function properly. Without the proper amount you can pass out, lose your hair, feel weak and exhausted and harm your organs. The minimum calorie requirement for women is 1200 - and since you're 5'7", I wouldn't go much lower than 1400 realistically.

As for specialized diets - there is really no need. You can eat whatever you enjoy and lose weight because it all comes down to calories in vs. calories out.

I wish you good luck and sincerely urge you to seek help for your disordered eating.
