Vegetarians & ProBiotics

Question for Vegetarians: (I eat a mostly whole and raw foods, plant based, very restricted diet) DO you use probiotics, and is it beneficial?
I began taking them about 2 weeks ago. I'm not really noticing any improved energy. Honestly the only thing I have noticed (TMI ALERT) is I am not using the #2 as frequently. With my diet, using the #2 was usually not a problem and frequent.

I think those vegetarians that eat really healthy would NOT need pro-biotics. Their gut flora is probably on top shape as it is. Funny how it's slowing down your BM's. I take pro-biotics from time to time and they make me more regular (daily). But I eat a lot of junk.1

You don't need them if you are a eating lots of vegetables. It's the folks not eating much fiber who need probiotics.

I just eat probiotic foods. If you don't eat dairy, that crosses out yogurt and kefir, but there's still fresh (not canned) sauerkraut, kimchi (without fish sauce if your preferences require), other fermented pickles, miso, raw vinegar, kombucha if you like it, etc.1

I doubt you need probiotics. I'm also veggie although not raw. Unless you've recently been on antibiotics I bet your gut flora are in top shape!0

Magnesium supplements work.
Most likely you are not eating enough fat and oils:
Full fat yogurt and cheese and salad dressing and mayo, avocado, tofu, olive and other oils, olives
ground flax seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds.

I only take a probiotic pill when i need it (like after a round of antibiotics, after stomach upset, after accidentally eating dairy). They don't perform magic by fixing all my allergies, all my intolerances, all my energy problems, my first born child, etc. They just regulate my gut.
But i do eat plenty of fermented foods (kimchi, kefir, yogurt) and fruits and vegetables so i already get plenty of pre and probiotics in my diet.
I doubt they are causing constipation; that could be due to your diet (like low fats, lower fiber, not enough water).0
