Carolina Beast Spartan race

I signed up for the Carolina Beast in November and it will be my first time doing anything like this. Anyone have a tip or two you can share?

    You're starting with a Beast? That's bold. Congrats!

    Get your miles in and strength training. Carry heavy things. Do some burpees.

    The course is fairly flat but super muddy. Last year everything was super slick because of that. It was a good time. Have fun with it!

    Thanks! Yeah it is a bold move but a friend of mine is doing it so I signed up. I started doing burpees because I hear I'll be doing lots of 'em. I've also started doing farmer's carry and intensified cardio. Thanks for the advice I'm excited but nervous because 12 miles seems insane.
