I love my cup of tea's they literally get me through shifts at work, I have normally tea bag, and a dash of BOB milk and x1 candarel sweetener but it's coming Up as 100 cals for a cup? Anyway I can amend this? Surely it's no where near that much?
Thanks all,
Scott

To use MFP right, you have to pick correct entries, which means that you have to check them for errors. It's usually more useful to just log the items that have calories, but measure (preferably weigh) it accurately.0

Eeek... I'd not cope if my work tea was that much! I sweetener is 4 calories and 100ml of bob is 41 calories so a just work out what a dash is and add them separately Add them into your recipe thing then it'll be in there every time you have a cuppa!1

Thanks both for the help, I will measure my first dash and then use that going forward thanks ☺️2

I drink a lot of tea at work. However as i'm not British, the idea of drinking tea with milk is something that never even comes to my mind. I also don't use any kind of sweeteners with tea, hence tea for me is basically a zero calorie drink.
I do however sometimes drink coffe, and that always with milk. That is also about 100 kcal. per cup. I just work it into my daily limit.1 -
Tea itself has zero calories (it's basically dirty water) so you only need to count the sweetener and the milk/creamer.0

1 tablet of the canderel sweetener has 0 calories.0

I have weighed my splash of milk plenty. I just count it as 2 oz of milk every time now0

Eeek, I might be in Britain, but I never liked tea with milk and sugar. Actually, I don't like normal tea. I drink masses of green tea or rooibos, and every now and then, when I can get hold of it German rosehip infusion.0

Wow alot of good ideas here - I have no calories left for today and I'm still awake so I'm going to try and have a black tea with a sweetener - as his is 0 cals, if this Converts me I would be so happy ☺️1

Yeah, for my morning coffee created a custom recipe with my standard amount of sugar and milk. Since it's usually the same size cup every morning and I use a measuring spoon for the sugar I can't really go much over. I don't even track tea since i only use zero calorie sweeteners (blasphemy!).1

@MegaMooseEsq thanks for the tip0

Update : so I have just worked out and measured my cup of tea I use 15mls of milk = 6 cals, and my 1 tsp of sweetener = 2 cals so 8 cals per tea now that's not bad ☺️7

I was gonna say I have tea with 50ml of semi skimmed and that comes in at 25 cals then 16 cals for half a sugar, I've been trying to get into zero cal teas though too since I have 5 or 6 brews a day, I recommend clipper calmer chameleon which is chamomile and cinnamon and twinings gingerbread green tea if you have a sweet tooth like me. Doesn't beat a proper milky brew but since my teas are 41 cals a pop and can make up nearly a fifth of my cals for the day I need to cut down and find alternatives for every other tea at least. :P
At 8 cals a tea though (since you don't slosh it like me) you're probably fine unless you want to cut down on the caffeine.0 -

That's very true, I did used to like green teas when I had an office job, as I could drink it warm with being a nurse now it's hard to drink a hot drink as way to busy day to day -, yes I do have a sWeet tooth that's my issue, I ditched real sugar long ago mind, never thought I would but you can't beat sugar can you, sweetener is sweet mind I use Candarel and I also use BOB milk it's skimmed but tastes like semi skimmed have you tried it? Yeah exactly 8 cals per drink and say I'm having 3 per day that's only 24cals can't even get a biscuit for that lol! ☺️1 -

Ohhhh never heard of it, to be fair I only have one cuppa at home and the rest are at work (office job so not on my feet like you) so it's whatever milk they have in (usually semi skimmed) I'll look out for it next big shop though! ;P Yeah I've needed to cut down, if I have 6 brews with sugar that can be 250 calories! Thats nearly 3 chocolate hobnobs! ;P0 -
8 is definitely much more doable than 100!0
-
@animatorswearbras It's reasonably new I seen an advert a few months back and darted to the shops haha0 -
We're tea twins, that's how I take mine too!0
-
@zipitzippy Really, how many do you drink per day? See we must have same healthy mindest ☺️1
-
With semi-skimmed its only 14 calories per cup - or that's what I log anyway (no sugar or sweetener).0
