Please help me!

I am 5'4 and my weight fluctuates anywhere from 112-115. I feel like I am constantly struggling to maintain 112. I eat below my recommended calorie intake and do cardio excercise 3 times a week with weight lifting. I can't stop weighing myself and feel totally obsessed with my weight, for fear of gaining. Should I be eating the recommended amount or should I try cutting back on calories? Please respond:bigsmile:

    Remember muscle weighs more than fat. Try doing an extra day of workout or hit the treadmill/stair climber for an extra day.

    I don't really know what you are trying to achieve here.. Are you trying to gain, maintain or lose? It depends what your recommended intake is calorie wise but if you have lost weight sometimes the maintenance calorie goal MFP gives you might not be right depending on your metabolism.

    You really need to figure this out yourself I think

    Your weight can fluctuate for several different reasons. If you're exercising regularly, eating healthy and appropriately, then I wouldn't stress about it.

    Fluctuating weight is perfectly normal, especially if you're a woman. Water weight will help you gain or lose weight on a daily basis. The most important thing you need to worry about is eating healthy and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. If you have that down, the rest will fall into place.

    Your weight varies a lot for different reasons based on the pure weight of the food in your stomach, water retention, and muscle repair. My weight fluctuates by 3+ pounds every day. I would suggest using the maintenance setting and paying attention to what makes your body's weight fluctuate.

    One thing that always makes my weight fluctuate is eating carbs. So if you tend to eat low carb then have times of high carbs that can make a few pounds difference. Also, that time of the month makes quite a difference. track with what you eat and time of the month and see if that is making the dif.

    I don't have an eating disorder. I just have always struggled with my weight and have finally found my happy place and have been living a healthy lifestyle for a couple years now, but I am always in fear of gaining it back like how I used to in the past. Maybe I do need to talk to somebody?

    Recognize that you're not just your weight. Letting it vary by three pounds is absolutely normal. The sodium intake and water weight can cause that little difference. Now if you were suddenly gaining weight or in a steady uphill gain-- then I'd be concerned. But 5' 4" and 112-115 is on the very lean side. Your healthy body and lean muscle tone is more important than the numbers.

    Also, eating below your recommended calories can send your body into starvation mode, slow down your metabolism and PREVENT weight loss. Lots of people find that when they're plateauing and have lowered calories anyway, they lose weight when they actually INCREASE for a time.
