I started this journey at the end of 2015 at my highest weight ever 3 months after having my last child. I was 348 lbs then. My body had begun to ache and I started a free 8 week fitness program at work that helped me. My goal is to weigh 200 lbs. Everytime I get close to 300 amd am ready to get into the 200's mentally I lose it. Not sure why but I do. I made it to 304 and now am back to 330. I had a ruptured disc repaired surgically 4 weeks ago and I need... My family needs my body to endure for a lot more years. So here I am starting again...

Welcome back! There's no shame to starting over again. I've had my share of back problems short of surgery, so I can only imagine how limited you are with exercise. Are you in physical therapy? Make sure to clear specific exercises with your PT team before attempting them at home. You certainly don't want to injure yourself while in recovery. Maybe now is the time to focus on diet - find some healthy recipes that sound good and learn to make them. I think many people struggle when they get closer to their goals. I'm not sure if it's fear of success or that their efforts go on autopilot, but it's certainly happened to me, too. I feel I have always operated in 3-week cycles of motivation and effort, and have learned to adapt to that. If the number on the scale is what's tripping you up, have you thought of just tracking different measurements? Perhaps a waist or thigh measurement every couple of weeks and then weigh yourself every month? Just ideas. Everyone is different and it may take a little time to find what works best for you. We are here for you!!0
