Does drinking water with flavouring still count?

I drink water, but it's hard for me to drink 8 cups a day. Usually I finish my 1.5L water bottle, but that's only 6 cups. I've got this green tea & honey Crystal Light Singles flavouring thing, and I absolutely love it so I always put it in other water bottles and it helps me drink more or less 8 cups a day depending on if I drank my 1.5L bottle.

But does drinking it with the flavouring still count as drinking water? Because if not, then wtf. I hope it counts because I love this stuff. Unfortunately it has 10 calories in a packet, but that's like 5 calories a cup... so I'm okay with it I guess. But it has 0g of sugar, and 0g of fat. So does it still count?

Technically cordials and flavoured waters as well as herbal teas are basically just pure water. Add the calories in you food log but you can count these per glass as your water count

It counts! I like the Crystal Light White Grape myself and thats the only way I can drink my water in a day. As long as you don't mind the extra few calories then its fine! Otherwise an option might be to add slices of lemon, lime or cucumber to a pitcher of water and let them steep in the fridge to add flavor. I do that sometimes too.
  • they better count, its the only way I drink water. Make sure you put it in your calories though :drinker:

Well.. I don't count those, water in my coffee, water in tea, or water in my protein shakes. I figure if I'm adding ANYTHING to the water - it isn't pure water and for me, I only count PURE water towards my water count. If I add something else - I am adding chemicals, sweeteners, etc.

Sure, it's still hydrating you, better to drink it that way than not drink, specially when it's hot.
I'm not a fan of artifical sweeteners myself, so I stick to plain water (or wine, but I don't count that as water!)
