    Don't make somebody a priority in your life if you're just an option to them. Also, 'it's ok to have your own agenda'. ie, not to be swept along with somebody else's agenda (ie to be casual and to never commit).

    The "weaker vessel" is like "fine china" compared to "Tupperware". Don't treat your wife like Tupperware, treat her like fine china.

    This doesn't fall into the "good" advice column, but I always remember this.
    I was once told by my Dad's Secretary when I was about 10 "Never go up to a man's apartment for coffee, cuz that is NOT what he wants, and use them and throw them away like tissues or they'll just do it to you"
