Voice logging in MFP

I made a simple voice clipboard for Android that seems to help speed up entry in MFP if I am in a hurry:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rfo.voxclip

Here is a video of how it works, but it is actually faster if you click on the left side of the mfp widget to get back to where you left off..

i mean this is cool and all, but what's the difference between this and just saying "Siri... make a note" and then noting it if you still have to paste all of this into myfitnesspal, search the database, add the appropriate weight/serving, etc.

Not trying to poo-poo just saying I don't see how this is any different or more useful to warrant hours and hours of developing.

Googles speech recognition seems better than apples so it might not port well but for myself I find this really handy so that I don't have to remember what I ate until when I have time to enter it in MFP later. It works even better if you speak specific brand names. You still have to tweak serving sizes a bit but it is handy and even kind of fun.

Haha.. Thanks for liking my voice.. My other dubious claim to fame is a Seinfeld Festivus carol:

... Or here is an old polish song I did when my voice was better:

I wrote to the MFP developers because this would be way more handy if it were Integrated right in the app itself... Maybe they'll add it to the Premium version?

Actually it saves a few keystrokes here and there: my clipboard automatically closes after each copy and can also auto delete each entry after you copy it. I can even add more features in the future like having it listen automatically as soon as It launches or perhaps even have it launch mfp from the background each time it closes. Most of the time for most of my foods my serving sizes are the same.

Right now it's mostly a proof of concept to try to get MFP developers to make something a little less cumbersome to use... I love mfp's food database but the user interface can be huge pain in the butt. Unfortunately their business model relies on ads so they probably want to keep you in their app as long as possible. Unfortunately slower entry means user fatigue so they end up losing most of their users in the long run.

I am not the greatest programmer but made this using rfo-basic so here is the .bas code for the entire app:
